Danske Bank has exposed the protected addresses of approximately 20,600 customers due to an IT glitch in the bank's payment system, according to a press release.
The error persisted for several months last year before being detected in October, though customers are only being informed now, reports Finans.dk.
The bank stated that the addresses became visible during domestic payment transactions and described the incident as a serious error. The exposure may have posed risks to the personal safety of the affected customers.
Danske Bank expressed regret over the incident and stated that measures have been implemented to prevent any recurrence.
