The Dax is poised to open with gains on Monday, according to price action in the futures markets. On Friday, the German blue-chip index closed 1.8 percent higher at 24,635.30 points. Rising prices across European and U.S. stock markets were driven by a successful market debut for the aerospace group SpaceX and optimism regarding a resolution to the U.S.-Iran conflict.

The U.S. and Iran have since reached a peace agreement, as announced late Sunday night by U.S. President Donald Trump, the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Iran's National Security Council, and the mediating state of Pakistan. The official signing of the accord is scheduled for this coming Friday, June 19.

"Nevertheless, several risks remain along the way," commented portfolio manager Thomas Altmann of asset manager QC Partners. The expert expects "long and complicated" discussions ahead regarding the Iranian nuclear program and Israel's conduct toward Lebanon. "Investors are ignoring these remaining risks today. On the trading floor, the primary focus is now on the imminent reopening of the Strait of Hormuz."

Additionally, G7 heads of state and government are meeting in Evian, France, on Monday for a three-day summit. The agenda includes the conflicts in Iran and Ukraine, related challenges for the global economy, and the implications of the use of Artificial Intelligence.

Regarding economic data, the focus will be on April foreign trade and industrial production figures for the Eurozone. In the afternoon, U.S. industrial data for May will follow.
