FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - On Wednesday, the DAX is likely to initially head back toward its previous day's high of just under 23,800 points. Just under two hours before the start of trading on Xetra, broker IG valued the leading German index at 23,756 points, up 0.2 percent.
After a weak start to December, the DAX had almost made up for its losses on Tuesday. Ultimately, however, it lost some momentum and the gains melted away.
On Wall Street, however, the market picked up again slightly after the close of European trading in the evening. The Nikkei recovery in Japan in the morning is also helping the DAX. However, China's stock markets are down slightly./ag/zb
