FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX): Investors can look forward to a robust start to the week on Monday. Following the finalized framework agreement between the U.S. and Iran, oil prices have fallen significantly. Furthermore, the trillion-dollar initial public offering of SpaceX saw a successful debut on Friday.
Broker IG signaled a strong opening for the Dax, pricing it 1.6 percent higher at 25,043 points roughly three hours before the Xetra start. By jumping over the psychological 25,000-point threshold, the chart resistance just below 25,500 points returns to focus. Slightly above that level, the record high of 25,507 points reached in January awaits.
Long anticipated, the deal between the warring parties is now finally a reality: Iran's Supreme National Security Council announced that it has finalized the framework agreement with the U.S. under the leadership of Head of State Mojtaba Khamenei. The framework agreement includes an immediate end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon. This ceasefire is effective immediately and permanently. Additionally, the U.S. naval blockade will be lifted immediately and completely, according to reports.
The Strait of Hormuz, a critical artery for global trade, is expected to open only after the formal signing of the Iran agreement on Friday due to necessary mine-clearing operations, according to U.S. officials. Oil prices are dropping by approximately five percent, providing further relief from inflationary pressures.
The market debut of the space and AI conglomerate SpaceX was already highly successful on Friday, making founder Elon Musk the world's first trillionaire. Issued at $135, SpaceX shares traded as high as $176 on the Nasdaq before ultimately closing at nearly $161: a corporate valuation of more than $2tn. Shares continued to climb in after-hours trading./ag/zb
