Following a positive start to the week, the agreement reached between the U.S. and Iran to end the conflict is prompting only modest further buying among Dax investors. The German benchmark index rose 0.2 percent to 24,943 points at Tuesday's opening, after gaining a solid one percent at the beginning of the week. "Compared to other indices, the Dax has reacted to the declaration of intent to end the Iran war with the handbrake on," noted Jochen Stanzl, analyst at Consorsbank. "SpaceX and AI are tying up liquidity that is simply missing from the Dax and other markets."

Among individual stocks, Commerzbank gained approximately one percent in the opening minutes of trading after the German government issued a clear rejection of the takeover plans by the major Italian bank UniCredit. The acceptance period for the takeover offer expires on Tuesday. In contrast, shares of Siltronic slumped by as much as six percent. The Munich-based chip supplier utilized the rapid rise in its share price for a capital increase of more than a quarter of a billion euros, announcing on Monday evening that it had placed three million new shares with large institutional investors.
