Infineon was among the strongest performers on the Dax. Shares of the chipmaker jumped as much as 3.7 percent, continuing their recovery. On Wall Street and in Asia, investors also returned to chip stocks following the recent sell-off. In contrast, K+S shares dropped more than five percent at the open after the fertilizer and salt group announced a convertible bond issue.
