The American President Donald Trump is set to deliver a televised address on Wednesday evening to reflect on the first year of his new term at the White House and to outline what he considers major victories, as Americans express concerns over the economy.

Donald Trump, who often believes his accomplishments go unrecognized, is expected to highlight the work of his administration.

White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told reporters that he may also discuss policy measures that should be undertaken in the coming year.

The American president is scheduled to speak at 9:00 p.m. during prime time, which should allow him to address the issue of "financial affordability," a concern for many Americans and one that Donald Trump has frequently described as a "hoax" invented by the Democrats.

The high level of inflation during the term of Democratic president Joe Biden helped Donald Trump win the 2024 presidential election. However, his decision to impose significant tariffs has created uncertainty and caused prices to rise.

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll published Tuesday, only 33% of Americans approve of the way Donald Trump has handled the economy.

The occupant of the White House may also address foreign policy, notably the issue of Venezuela, as he ordered on Tuesday the blockade of all sanctioned oil tankers entering or leaving the country.
