(Update in the last two paragraphs)

Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup, was shut down for several hours on Monday evening after two to three large drones were spotted in the vicinity. The airport only reopened at 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday. At least 50 flights were rerouted to locations including Malmö and Landvetter.

The disruptions continued into the morning, and according to DR, 10 out of the first 26 departures from Kastrup were either canceled or delayed.

Police reported that the drones disappeared on their own and have launched an investigation. An SAS plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Kastrup due to fuel shortage.

Shortly afterward, Oslo's Gardermoen Airport was also closed following a drone alert. Norwegian and Danish authorities have begun collaborating to investigate whether there is any connection between the drone incidents.

Danish police held a press conference in the morning, stating that a "capable actor" was behind the drone flights. Louise Dalsgaard, an analyst at DR, suggested that the operation was likely carried out either by organized criminal groups or a state actor.

Kastrup has announced that air traffic will continue to be affected for the rest of the day. In total, 10-12 percent of flights will be impacted. Kastrup is scheduled to handle 400 departures and arrivals today.
