(Alliance News) - Edison Spa announced on Monday that it has received a further extension of force majeure from QatarEnergy regarding five additional LNG cargoes destined for the Adriatic LNG terminal, with deliveries scheduled between July and mid-August 2026.

With this extension, the total number of cargoes affected by force majeure rises to 17, representing a volume of approximately 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas, the company explained in a statement.

The company also noted that the last supplies from Qatar date back to late March 2026 and that a total of 1.6 billion cubic meters of natural gas were received during the first quarter of the year.

Edison maintains a long-term contract with QatarEnergy for the supply of 6.4 billion cubic meters of gas per year to Italy, which has been active since 2009 and has a 25-year duration.
