In a statement, Edison — a company controlled by France's EDF — explained that it had received official notification from QatarEnergy regarding the occurrence of a force majeure event.
According to the company, five LNG cargoes are expected to be affected, but deliveries scheduled for March are not included in this notice.
Edison does not anticipate "any impact on its end customers, thanks to mitigation measures and ongoing portfolio management activities that have already been activated."
