(Alliance News) - Eni Spa announced on Wednesday that it has acquired over 2.3 million of its own shares at a weighted average price of EUR17.0565 each, for a total value of approximately EUR40 million.

Following these transactions, which took place between January 26 and January 30, Eni now holds 199.9 million treasury shares, representing 6.4% of its share capital.

On Wednesday, Eni's stock was up 1.7% at EUR17.62 per share.
