According to a statement, the plan has received approval from the boards of Eni and Kuwait Petroleum Corporation following a binding offer submitted by Q8.
The Priolo biorefinery will have a capacity of 500,000 tonnes per year and will offer significant operational flexibility to produce either HVO-diesel or SAF-biojet, in order to adapt to market trends and demands.
The completion of the authorization process, finalization of detailed agreements, and construction work are all expected by the end of 2028.
