Two new wind repowering projects totaling 141 MW awarded in FER X Auction
Genoa, 3 December 2025 - ERG has secured 20-year "pay-as-produced" tariffs in the first auction round under the transitional FER X decree, with two full repowering projects totaling 141 MW.
Specifically, the award covers the Carlentini (Siracusa) wind repowering project for a total of 97 MW (of which 81 MW relate to full reconstruction) and the Greci-Montaguto (Avellino) project with a capacity of 44 MW. The combined installed capacity will reach 141 MW, more than doubled compared to the current one (69MW). The expected average annual production will reach more than 300 GWh, around three times the current output.
Construction is expected to begin in early 2026, with both plants scheduled to enter operation during 2027.
Paolo Merli, CEO of ERG, commented: "Thanks to the favorable outcome of the FER X auction for ERG, we will launch two strategic wind repowering projects that will enable us to achieve the dual goal of modernizing our existing assets with cutting-edge technologies while securing energy sale prices for the first 20 years of operations at a tariff aligned with our revenue targets."
