Estée Lauder has filed a lawsuit against Walmart alleging the retail giant sold knockoff versions of some of its fragrances and skin-care products.
The lawsuit, filed in a federal court in California, accused Walmart of trademark infringement and false designation of origin. The lawsuit alleged that Walmart sold products through its website with identical or substantially indistinguishable branding to some of Estée Lauder's brands including Le Labo, Clinique, La Mer, Tom Ford and Aveda.
Walmart didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
The lawsuit seeks a court order that would prevent Walmart from selling the alleged counterfeit products as well as monetary damages.
