(Alliance News) - ETS Engineering And Technical Services Spa announced on Wednesday it has been awarded the executive design contract for Lot 2 of the new Naples Metro Line, a project that forms part of the connection between Naples Di Vittorio station and Casoria Afragola. The overall tender is valued at approximately EUR691 million.
The company is participating in the initiative as a member of the Temporary Design Consortium led by SYSTRA Spa, with the award formalized by EAV Srl, Ente Autonomo Volturno.
The integrated contract covers, in addition to executive design, the construction of railway and system electrical installations, supervision and control systems with the associated data transmission network, automated ticketing systems, installation of turnstiles, workshop equipment for rolling stock maintenance, and the design and supply of railway vehicles, including full-service maintenance.
The total estimated value of the contract, including options, is around EUR691 million, while the portion allocated to design alone amounts to nearly EUR5.8 million, to be divided among the consortium members according to established percentages. The contract is still being finalized.
The project represents a significant step in strengthening the transport system in the northern area of Naples and will see the construction of the city’s first driverless train line. The design consortium includes SYSTRA Spa and SYSTRA SA, along with ETS, RECO Srl, and Architecna Engineering Srl, while the executing companies feature Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles SA, Leonardo Spa, AET Srl, MER MEC STE Srl, and Francesco Ventura Costruzioni Srl.
ETS Engineering And Technical Services shares closed up 1.9% on Wednesday at EUR5.38 per share.
