Registrations of heavy trucks over 16 tonnes in the EU dropped by 5.4 percent to 254,488 vehicles in 2025. This follows a decline of 8.5 percent in 2024.

This is according to the latest figures from the industry association ACEA.

Among the larger markets, Germany was down 11.7 percent, while France fell 9.7 percent. In Italy, the decrease was 2.7 percent, in Spain -3.5 percent, while Poland was up 9.2 percent.

"The commercial vehicle market in the EU had a challenging year in 2025, with declining registrations in several major markets, which is a clear sign of the difficult economic situation," ACEA noted.
