Eutelsat has announced the renewal of several capacity agreements with Viewsat, further strengthening a long-standing partnership for the broadcast market in Egypt and across the entire MENA (Middle East and North Africa) region.
Building on this renewed collaboration at the 7/8° position, the French satellite operator and Viewsat will continue their shared mission: "to meet the needs of Egyptian broadcasters with reliable and tailor-made broadcasting services."
"The renewal of these agreements demonstrates the constructive relationship between the two partners, as well as the importance of the Egyptian market in Eutelsat's strategy for developing audiovisual services in the region," Eutelsat explained.
Reaching 66 million satellite TV-equipped households in the MENA region, the 7/8° West position stands as the region's leading audiovisual hub, where more than 950 channels are broadcast.
For many years, Eutelsat and Viewsat have built a partnership that combines Eutelsat's satellite infrastructure with Viewsat's expertise in media content distribution and customer support.
Eutelsat Communications is a global leader in satellite communications, delivering connectivity and broadcast services worldwide. The group addresses the needs of customers in four key verticals of Video, where it distributes more than 6,500 television channels, and the high-growth connectivity markets of Mobile Connectivity, Fixed Connectivity, and Government Services.
