Eutelsat Unveils Portable Military Terminal in Partnership with Intellian Technologies
Eutelsat has announced the launch of the first portable military-use terminal, named OW7MP, capable of operating on Eutelsat's OneWeb low Earth orbit network.
Developed in collaboration with Intellian Technologies, the global leader in satellite telecommunications antennas, this terminal is now available to government and military customers.
Thanks to Intellian's portable OW7MP terminal, government and military operators can now benefit from secure access to Eutelsat's global LEO network wherever traditional telecommunications infrastructure is unavailable, degraded, or blocked.
The terminal is also capable of operating in environments without GPS coverage, a crucial advantage for armed forces operating in conflict zones.
Steve Mills, who leads Eutelsat's global government activities, stated: "With this brand-new terminal, Eutelsat is now able to better meet the specific operational needs of its defense and government partners, whether for communications in conflict zones, emergency response operations, or secure communications in hard-to-reach areas."
Eutelsat Communications is a global leader in satellite communications, delivering connectivity and broadcast services worldwide. The group was formed through the combination of Eutelsat and OneWeb in 2023, becoming the first fully integrated GEO-LEO satellite operator with a fleet of 35 geostationary (GEO) satellites and a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation of more than 600 satellites.
The group addresses the needs of customers in four key verticals of Video, where it distributes more than 6,500 television channels, and the high-growth connectivity markets of Mobile Connectivity, Fixed Connectivity, and Government Services. Eutelsat Group's unique suite of in-orbit assets and on-ground infrastructure enables it to deliver integrated solutions to meet the needs of global customers.
