Game providers Evolution and Pragmatic Play have pulled out of their partnership with Stake.us following a lawsuit filed by the City of Los Angeles against the platform and several suppliers over suspected illegal gambling activities. The news was reported by Next.io.
The lawsuit also names Evolution's studios Nolimit City, Red Tiger, Big Time Gaming, and NetEnt.
Meanwhile, California's legislative proposal AB 831--which would criminalize support for sweepstakes casinos--is moving forward to a Senate vote. Suppliers are now being identified as a weak link in the system. Stake has rejected the allegations and says it is prepared to defend itself. Next.io has reached out to Evolution, Pragmatic Play, and Hacksaw for comment.
