The announcement was made in a statement by Ferragamo Finanziaria, the Ferragamo family holding company and controlling shareholder of the Florentine fashion house.
Freda served as President and Chief Executive Officer of The Estée Lauder Companies from 2009 to December 2024; prior to that, he held positions of increasing responsibility for approximately twenty years at Procter & Gamble. Today, among other roles, he is a member of the Board of Directors of BlackRock, the world's largest asset management firm.
Freda will work alongside the shareholders of Ferragamo Finanziaria, providing the holding company with the expertise and experience gained in international contexts. He will contribute to analysis, strategic decisions, and the strengthening of the structure and operations of the Ferragamo Group and other family businesses, the note emphasized.
In this capacity, Freda may also support group companies in advisory roles, assisting in the selection of the future CEO or assuming a seat on the Board of Directors of Salvatore Ferragamo.
