(Alliance News): Fincantieri Spa announced Friday that it has delivered 'Mein Schiff Flow', the second cruise ship in the new InTUItion class built for TUI Cruises, a joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises.

The ceremony took place at the Monfalcone shipyard in the presence of executives from both companies, local authorities, and regional institutional representatives.

With a gross tonnage of approximately 160,000 tons and a capacity of about 4,000 passengers, 'Mein Schiff Flow' belongs to a new generation of vessels designed by Fincantieri with a specific focus on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

The unit is powered by liquefied natural gas and can be adapted to use low-emission alternative fuels, such as bio-LNG and e-LNG. The ship is also equipped with catalytic converters compliant with Euro 6 standards, a steam turbine that recovers waste heat from diesel generators, and a shore-side power supply system, which allows for nearly emission-free operations while in port.

A waste treatment system has also been installed on board, capable of transforming organic substances into recyclable components through a thermal process.

'With the delivery of Mein Schiff Flow, we celebrate a new milestone in our collaboration with TUI Cruises and confirm the strategic role of the Monfalcone shipyard as a center of excellence in global shipbuilding,' said Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri.

'Here, innovation, sustainability, and industrial expertise are transformed daily into production capacity and international competitiveness. This result testifies to the strength of an ecosystem that continues to evolve, investing in the technologies of the future and enhancing Italian industrial know-how. I would like to thank all the people who, with professionalism, passion, and commitment, have contributed to making this important achievement possible.'

The delivery is part of a long-term collaboration between Fincantieri and TUI Cruises. Last September, the parties signed a contract for the construction of two additional InTUItion-class ships, sister ships to 'Mein Schiff Relax' and 'Mein Schiff Flow', with delivery scheduled for 2031 and 2032, respectively.

The new units will be built according to the most advanced environmental standards and will contribute to further strengthening the industrial relations between Fincantieri, TUI Cruises, and Royal Caribbean Group.

With more than 45 cruise ships built over the years, the Monfalcone production site represents the group's primary facility for the cruise segment. Approximately 6,500 people work at the shipyard daily, confirming the plant's central role in employment and the technological development of Italian shipbuilding.

Fincantieri shares were up 0.3% at €11.40 per share.
