Fingerprint Cards AB announced the launch of FPC AllKey Ultra, the next evolution in their fingerprint systems family. Following the strong market reception and commercial success of FPC AllKey, introduced in Third Quarter 2024, FPC is expanding the lineup to address even broader market needs and use cases. Building on the proven performance, versatility, and security of FPC AllKey, the new FPC AllKey Ultra variant integrates a secure element, raising hardware and software security to the highest industry level, providing enhanced protection for biometric data and cryptographic operations.
This new version enables stronger authentication and secure storage, expanding the potential for integration across a wider range of products and applications. FPC AllKey Ultra supports traditional surface mount applications as well as now including side-mounted form factors, made possible by an ultra-thin sensor design. A secure element (SE) is a dedicated, tamper-resistant chip designed to safely store sensitive data such as encryption keys and credentials.
It acts as a digital vault inside a device, ensuring that private information like biometric templates or security codes can never be accessed or modified by unauthorized parties. This level of protection is widely used in payment cards already and is ever more critical in today's connected world, where secure authentication is a must across a growing number of digital services and devices. The addition of a SE enables FPC AllKey Ultra to serve fast-growing demand areas for FPC's systems, including crypto wallets, FIDO tokens/passkeys, digital ID, one-time password generators, and secure storage devices, among others.
These applications all require strong security, compact form factors, and a seamless user experience, areas where FPC AllKey Ultra excels. With its enhanced capabilities, FPC AllKey Ultra extends FPC's mission to make secure and convenient authentication available everywhere. It reinforces FPC's leadership in biometric innovation and its commitment to meeting the growing demand for secure, seamless, and user-friendly identity solutions across devices and platforms. FPC will showcase FPC AllKey Ultra for the first time at Trustech 2025 in Paris, in early December, where visitors will be able to experience the new product capabilities and see live demonstrations of its performance across multiple applications.
