FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Heightened fears over US interest rates and the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran soured the mood for investors on the German stock market at the start of the week. The Dax fell 1.3 percent to 24,442 points in the opening minutes of trading, slipping significantly below the 21-day moving average, which currently stands at 24,706 points and is viewed as a key indicator for the short-term trend.
The MDax, which tracks mid-cap companies, lost 1.8 percent on Monday morning to reach 31,884 points. Meanwhile, the Eurozone's benchmark EuroStoxx 50 index declined by 1.2 percent./edh/stk
