FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Strong financial results from AI company Nvidia significantly improved the mood on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Thursday morning. The DAX rose 1.05 percent to 23,407 points in the opening minutes. It pulled its index peers up with it to varying degrees: while the MDAX gained half a percent to 28,804 points, the Eurozone's leading index, the EuroStoxx, rose 1.2 percent.

"Nvidia's strong quarterly results should calm the nervousness on the stock markets for the time being," wrote experts at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg this morning. The chipmaker presented its results after the US stock market closed, and its shares subsequently climbed by around six percent in after-hours trading. The AI boom brought the chipmaker another explosive quarter of growth.

Nvidia has given investors the right answer to their recent concerns about the boom topic of artificial intelligence, commented analyst Blayne Curtis from the analysis firm Jefferies. The fear of exaggeration and the bursting of an "AI bubble" that has recently been growing among investors is easing again. This afternoon, the markets will face their next test with the delayed US jobs report for September./tih/stk
