FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - The German stock market stabilized on Friday after the previous day's sharp decline. Quarterly results released by iPhone maker Apple after the close of US trading appear to have at least stopped further dampening the mood in the tech sector. On the corporate front, Adidas earnings are in focus. In the afternoon, price data from Germany and the US could attract attention.

The Dax rose by 0.4 percent to 24,403 points in the first minutes of trading, after losing more than 2 percent the previous day. For the week, this points to a two percent loss for Germany's leading index. The turbulent stock market month of January closes with a minus of 0.4 percent.

The MDax of mid-cap stocks was virtually unchanged on Friday morning at 31,232 points. The Eurozone benchmark index EuroStoxx 50 climbed about 0.3 percent./edh/jha/
