FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - After reclaiming the 25,000-point mark, the Dax lost momentum on Thursday morning. The highly anticipated business figures from Nvidia released the previous evening failed to provide any boost.

In early trading, Germany's leading index slipped by 0.18 percent to 25,132 points. The MDax, which tracks mid-cap stocks, fell by 0.76 percent to 31,192 points. The Eurozone's benchmark EuroStoxx index remained largely unchanged.

Recent concerns in the AI sector could not be dispelled by either AI heavyweight Nvidia or software group Salesforce. Comments from Nvidia's Chief Financial Officer, Collette Kress, regarding potentially growing long-term pressure from Chinese competitors, caught investors' attention. While Nvidia's quarterly results were once again very strong, and its shares were poised for gains on Thursday, the results were not enough to reignite the AI hype, wrote market expert Thomas Altmann of QC Partners./gl/mis
