1238 GMT - Yields on U.K. government bonds, or gilts, are expected to fall further in the near term as the U.K. inflation slows down and gilt supply stays light relative to previous years, HSBC's Daniela Russell says in a note. The political environment is calm and concerns about the U.K. public finances have eased following the budget, and these should support gilts' performance, Russell says. However, global developments and possible political unease in the U.K. could hinder gilt yields from falling, she says. Ten-year gilt yields are expected to fall to 3.75% by the end of 2026, Russell says. The ten-year yields fall 1 basis point to last trade at 4.382%, Tradeweb data show. (miriam.mukuru@wsj.com)
