Health-care companies ticked up as traders rotated back into a sector that has lagged for much of the year.

The iShares Biotechnology exchange-traded fund, rose by almost 2%, bringing year-to-date gains to roughly 8%.

Kenvue shares fell sharply following a Wall Street Journal report that U.S. health secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to issue a report linking the use of pain reliever Kenvue's Tylenol by pregnant women to autism cases.

The Department of Health and Human Services report will also suggest a medicine derived from folate can be used to treat symptoms of the developmental disorder in some people.
