Hormel Foods Sales LLC, part of Hormel Foods, said it is voluntarily recalling 215,258 cases, or 4.87 million total pounds, of fire braised chicken products due to concerns about extraneous metal.
The recalled products are sold only to foodservice customers and can't be purchased directly by consumers.
The Agriculture Department's Food Safety and Inspection Service said Hormel received customer complaints and determined that metal originated from the conveyor belt used in production.
Hormel said no related illnesses or injuries have been reported.
FSIS said Friday that South Dakota-based LSI Inc. recalled about 2.28 million pounds of Golden Island pork jerky due to complaints about metal pieces. LSI determined that the metal originated from the conveyor belt used in production, FSIS said.
