Icon PLC's chief executive, Steve Cutler, is retiring from the clinical research organization.
Icon on Thursday said Barry Balfe, currently chief operating officer, will succeed Cutler at the helm of the Dublin-based company on Oct. 1
Icon said the Cutler, who has been CEO since March 2017 and a board member since November 2015, will continue to serve as a non-executive director to assist with the transition.
Balfe, who has spent more than two decades with Icon and has been chief operating officer since last December, is joining the board, Icon said.
