IGO said a fire occurred at a processing plant at the Greenbushes lithium operation that it owns with Tianqi Lithium and Albemarle in Western Australia.

The fire broke out at the Chemical Grade Plant 3, or CGP3, facility at Greenbushes on Tuesday, IGO said in a statement to Australia's stock exchange on Wednesday. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were sustained, it said.

IGO said the CGP1 and CGP2 plants at Greenbushes are unaffected and that the operation remains on track to meet IGO's annual production guidance.

Talison Lithium, the joint venture between the miners that runs the operation, has begun an investigation into the cause of the fire, IGO said. An assessment of the required repairs will also be completed, it said.
