FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Automotive supplier Schaeffler is a member of the MDax as of this Monday. The move comes after real estate group Deutsche Wohnen was forced to leave the mid-cap index. Its proportion of free-float shares fell below the minimum threshold of 10 percent required to remain in the index.

The vacancy in the small-cap SDax created by Schaeffler's promotion to the MDax has been filled by the preferred shares of tool manufacturer Einhell. Index changes are primarily significant for funds that replicate indices physically. Such funds must rebalance and reweight accordingly, which can impact share prices./ck
