FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - The investigation into the technical failure of a Dreamliner at Frankfurt Airport is ongoing. The damaged Boeing 787-9 was scheduled to be moved to a maintenance hangar during the course of the evening, according to a Lufthansa spokesperson. Further inspections are to be conducted there, with repairs to follow at a later stage.

Meanwhile, the injured members of the 13-person Lufthansa crew have been discharged from the hospital, the airline announced on Thursday evening. All other crew members have received support, and their return travel has been arranged. Two Lufthansa cabin crew members and several employees from service providers had been transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

The incident occurred on Thursday at approximately 12:45 PM at gate A15 in front of Terminal 1. The aircraft, operating flight LH450, was scheduled to depart for Los Angeles.

'The nose landing gear of the aircraft unexpectedly collapsed while at a parking position,' Lufthansa stated. At the time, only staff were on board: 13 Lufthansa crew members and several employees from partner companies. Passengers were still waiting to board.

According to dpa information, the flight was scheduled for departure at 1:50 PM. Boarding for long-haul flights typically takes around 30 minutes, meaning the first passengers would have been on board by approximately 1:15 PM.
