:: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that the conflict with Iran is 'not an endless war'
"I hear the people are saying we're going to have an endless war here. You're not going to have an endless war."
"And I think peace between Israel and Saudi Arabia would be really possible. And probably very close once this thing happens. So this is a gateway for peace, for broader peace. And I believe that that we can achieve it."
"I said it could be quick and decisive. It may take some time, but it's not going to take years. It's not an endless war. In fact, it's an effort right now to achieve the peace that we all yearn and pray for. And I think together we'll achieve it."
Netanyahu said it is up to the people of Iran to "change the government", after the targeted killing of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the opening hours of the campaign over the weekend.
He added that Israel and the U.S. were "creating the conditions for them to do so."
The U.S. and Israeli air war against Iran widened on Monday, with no end in sight as Israel attacked Lebanon in response to strikes by Hezbollah and Iran kept up its attacks on Gulf states that host U.S. military bases.
