Italy hired banks for the syndicated tap of the 3.30% June 2033 and 4.65% October 2055 nominal government bonds, or BTPs, with the transaction to be launched in the near future subject to market conditions, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said Monday.
For the 2055 BTP, the amount to be issued will not exceed 5 billion euros ($5.76 billion), it said.
The transaction will be launched in the near future subject to market conditions.
Due to the upcoming syndication, the auctions of seven-year and longer than 10-year BTPs, scheduled for June 11, will not take place, the treasury said.
The banks hired as joint lead managers are Banco Santander SA, BNP Paribas, BofA Securities Europe S.A., Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, J.P. Morgan SE and Morgan Stanley Europe SE.
