Feb. 12, 2026 JPXTSE Report on the Japan-Gulf Business & Investment Forum 2026
Post
On January 14, 2026, Japan Exchange Group, Inc. (JPX) and Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE), in cooperation with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), held the international economic forum "Japan-Gulf Business & Investment Forum 2026" in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Held in the Middle East for the first time, the Forum aimed to present the current state of the Japanese economy and to engage with local companies and investors in the region. It was launched as an information-sharing platform bringing economic and financial leaders together from both the Middle East and Japan.
At this inaugural Forum, the programmes featured presentations by JPX executives on TSE market initiatives, keynote speeches by senior government officials from Japan and Dubai, panel discussions by industry experts, as well as networking sessions. Through these programmes, the Forum provided not only a comprehensive overview of Japan's latest economic trends and market strengths, but also shared insight into improvements in the investment environment, including corporate governance reforms, and highlighted concrete investment opportunities created in Japan under the "All-Japan" framework, a joint effort to encourage cooperation between the Japanese government and the private sector.
The Forum was attended by more than 100 participants, including representatives from sovereign wealth funds and hedge funds. Feedback from attendees indicated that the Forum deepened their understanding of the structural changes currently underway in Japanese society and Japan's medium- to long-term market outlook. Attendees also expressed increased expectations for future collaboration between Japan and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai). Participants also commented that they highly valued the networking opportunities at the Forum, including the luncheon networking session, which was held in conjunction and hosted by the Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to all attendees, speakers, as well as to our sponsor firms, Mizuho Securities, Nomura Securities, Daiwa Securities, and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Group. We would also like to thank our supporting organisations, including the Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Authority, and the Financial Services Agency of Japan. We also wish to thank our media partner, Nikkei Asia, and all other supporting organisations that contributed to the success of the Forum.
We hope that this Forum will contribute to taking economic and financial relations between Japan and the Middle East to the next level.
