TOKYO, April 22 (Reuters) - Employees seconded from Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance and two other insurers to Toyota Motor have taken information from within the automaker without authorisation, Kyodo news agency reported on Wednesday.
The other insurance firms were Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance, both of which are units of MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings, Kyodo said. Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance is a subsidiary of Tokio Marine Holdings.
Information taken included meeting minutes and personnel-related items, Kyodo said, citing unnamed sources.
A spokesperson at Tokio Marine & Nichido said it was true that its staff seconded to Toyota had taken information from the car maker without authorisation, but declined to comment further. Toyota said it was still confirming the facts of the matter.
No one was immediately available for comment at Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance outside regular working hours, and a spokesperson at Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance declined to comment.
