(Corrects spelling of Jas in two instances)

According to information obtained by TV4, Jas 39 Gripen aircraft from defense company Saab are set to patrol Greenland.

The news channel reports that at the beginning of the month, six Jas 39 Gripen landed on the island, and these aircraft will now be patrolling the area. This marks Sweden's contribution to NATO's Arctic Sentry mission.

Relevant in this context is the ongoing dispute between the United States, Denmark, and Greenland regarding whether President Donald Trump should be allowed to purchase the island on national security grounds. Trump's intentions have been opposed by Denmark, Greenland, and other NATO allies.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance stated a few days ago that talks regarding Greenland are still at a very early stage and are expected to continue in the coming months.
