Kroger has begun offering delivery from nearly 2,700 of its stores via Uber platforms.
Customers can now order delivery from Ralphs, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Smith's, Fry's, Harris Teeter, Mariano's and other Kroger store banners via Uber's apps, the companies said Thursday.
The rollout comes as grocery stores have been expanding their delivery options to cater to consumers who are increasingly concerned with convenience. Grocery chains are also seeking to compete with Amazon, which recently expanded its same-day grocery delivery to over 2,300 cities and towns.
"Customers' needs evolve constantly, and at Kroger, we're committed to meeting them with solutions that fit every moment with the understanding that what is convenient changes day to day," said Jody Kalmbach, Kroger's e-commerce group vice president.
