International stocks trading in New York ended mixed Thursday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts was largely flat at 121.08. The European index ticked down 0.3% to 116.26. The Asian index was up 0.1% to 137.07. The Latin American index advanced 1.7% to 189.70, while the emerging-markets index moved up 0.5% to 241.10.

ABB Ltd. was among those whose ADRs traded actively.

The Swiss technology company ticked down 0.9% after net profit for the third quarter missed analysts' expectations as well as news that its plan to list its E-Mobility business unit isn't expected to happen this year.

Ericsson AB slid 15% after the Swedish telecommunications equipment company posted third-quarter net profit that missed expectations as lower licensing revenue and higher costs weighed on margins.
