International stocks trading in New York closed mostly higher on Friday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts rose 0.8% to 142.78. The European index increased 0.9% to 133.68, the Asian index rose 0.9% to 173.01, the Latin American index dropped 0.8% to 192.32, and the emerging markets index increased 0.5% to 293.87.

Deutsche Post AG and Carnival PLC were among the companies with ADRs that traded actively.

ADRs of Deutsche Post fell 1% after DHL Supply Chain and Nestle Nespresso SA extended their strategic partnership in the U.K. and Ireland.

ADRs of Carnival rose 1.6% after its Princess Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line and Cunard lines said they would remove the requirement of pre-cruise testing for Covid-19 for vaccinated guests in September.

ADRs of Mercedes-Benz Group AG rose 1.2% after the company said it is expanding its supply agreement with Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., a Chinese battery maker, to supply battery cells for its next-generation models.
