AIG's life and retirement separation may take 'a couple of years': sources

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Insurer American International Group Inc's $17 billion life and retirement business could take "a couple of years" to separate from the company, and may be done in phased stages, two people familiar with the matter said on Monday.
