BAYADA Home Health Care, a leading global not-for-profit provider of in-home health care and support services, is celebrating National Nurses Week to honor and recognize nurses for their heroic work, especially this year as they continue to selflessly serve on the front lines of the pandemic to ensure the health and safety of their communities.

As part of the celebration, BAYADA is hosting a “What’s Your Wish” giveaway on NursesWeek.com, where they will randomly select 50 nurses to win a prize kit.

Nurses who visit the website can enter to win one of five nurse-curated themed kits. The kits were developed based on a survey of many BAYADA nurses who were asked what they would wish for to bring them joy and make their lives easier. Each kit contains activities and gifts to plan the perfect staycation, run a smart home, and enjoy tranquility time, among other themes. Nurses also have the option of taking a fun quiz to help decide which wish kit is the best fit for them to enter to win.

“Every year I am more inspired than the last by how all nurses, and especially our home health care nurses, go above and beyond their call of duty to deliver quality care to people in our communities. This year is certainly no exception as we passed the one-year anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic – a year truly like no other,” said BAYADA CEO David Baiada. “It is with the utmost gratitude that we at BAYADA celebrate Nurses Week this year and share resources that will help bring nurses the recognition and professional development opportunities to lift their spirits and grow their careers.”

In addition to entry to win a “What’s Your Wish” giveaway kit, NursesWeek.com offers health care professionals access to online expert speaker sessions, panel discussions, podcasts, and more, including a menu of virtual courses for which nurses can earn up to seven Continuing Education (CE) credits for free. Key speaker sessions include:

  • Crystal Balls and Silver Linings (a lively "look back and look forward" to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic) with Barb Bancroft, RN, MSN, NP, Executive Director and President, CPP Associates
  • Mindfulness Tools for Self-care and Resiliency with Lesley Williams, MSN, RN, CTTS, Behavioral Change Coach, Brown University

“As a nurse myself, I know how important it is to be able to continue education and at BAYADA, we want nurses to feel they have the support and tools necessary to enhance their ongoing career growth, which is why this is a critical part of our Nurses Week activities,” said Nora Triola, Ph.D., RN, N.E.A.-B.C., BAYADA Chief Clinical Officer. “As the home becomes an even more important destination setting for client care now and in the future, we must continue to celebrate, support, and professionally develop nurses in this specialty during Nurses Week and beyond.”

BAYADA offices will also be celebrating and honoring their nurses at the local level in varying ways, such as through raffles, free meals, special gifts, virtual events, and more.

BAYADA’s Nurses Week efforts are part of a larger initiative and commitment to recruit and retain nurses who share the organization’s vision of delivering care with compassion, excellence, and reliability.
