Managua, December 13, 2021.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) donated US$5,000 each to guarantee timely medical treatment for minors treated in the Oncology Department of the Manuel de Jesús Rivera "La Mascota" National Reference Children's Hospital and to improve the infrastructure of the Divina Misericordia Home for the Elderly in Nicaragua.

The first donation was made to the Comisión Nicaragüense de ayuda al Niño con Cáncer (The Nicaraguan Commission for Children with Cancer (CONANCA), which will purchase 3,788 blood biometry tests for the accurate diagnosis of cancer in children, while the second will be used for the construction of 66 square meters of perimeter wall to improve the infrastructure and security of the elderly.

"We are more than pleased to help these children in their fight against cancer by providing the tools to the health personnel who care for them. As CABEI, we will continue to extend our hand of solidarity for the wellbeing of this population, as well as that of the elderly," said CABEI Executive President, Dr. Dante Mossi.

The donations were delivered by CABEI Director for Nicaragua, Mr. Uriel Pérez, who commented: "We are pleased to do our bit to support Nicaraguan children, but also our elderly, and today we reaffirm that we are here to continue supporting them to improve their quality of life".
