The Canadian dollar strengthened against the greenback on Thursday, and the yield on benchmark government debt climbed. The loonie was trading 0% higher at C$1.3755 to the greenback, or 72.7 U.S. cents, after trading in a range of 1.3727 to 1.3761. Canadian government 10-year bond yields rose 2.8 basis points to 3.178%. The yield on similar U.S. government benchmark debt rose to 3.9934%. U.S. September crude futures rose 38 cents to $75.61 a barrel on Thursday.
