CBA Statement on FDIC Unbanked Survey Results

WASHINGTON - Consumer Bankers Association President and CEO Richard Hunt issued the following statement after the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) released results of a survey revealing a record number of American households with bank accounts in 2019:

'The nation's banks are well-capitalized, well-positioned and committed to ensuring Americans have access to safe and sound financial products.

'During COVID-19, banks of all sizes joined together to support struggling communities, small businesses and customers during their time of need. CBA and our member banks continue to advocate for policies to ensure more unbanked and underbanked have access to safe, well-regulated financial products to meet their unique needs.'
