OTTAWA, Sept 18 (Reuters) - The heads of Canada's five major grocery chains have agreed to support the government in its efforts to stabilize prices, Innovation Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne said on Monday.

Champagne was speaking to reporters after what he said were two hours of difficult talks in Ottawa with the five chains, which represent 80% of the Canadian market. (Reporting by David Ljunggren Editing by Chris Reese)
