WASHINGTON, May 12 (Reuters) - Democrats will continue to seek bipartisanship on infrastructure legislation and believe there is a basis for compromise, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said on Wednesday.

"I think we're going to continue to work towards bipartisanship," Hoyer, the No. 2 House Democrat, said in an interview with MSNBC. "Both parties have said they're for infrastructure, both parties know that we need to make substantial investments in infrastructure. So there is a basis for bipartisan support and I'm hopeful that we can there." (Reporting by Doina Chiacu; Editing by Chris Reese)
