NEW YORK, Feb. 19, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Spine & Pain Institute of New York congratulates Dr. Kiran V. Patel for her recent and first appointment to the Board of Directors of NANS, for a two-year term. Dr. Kiran Patel currently practices at The Spine & Pain Institute of New York.

Dr. Patel is considered one of the pioneering neuromodulators in the field of interventional pain management by her peers. She is the President of the Women in Neuromodulation, NY chapter, a group geared to the advancement and education of female pain specialists. She is the Director of Neurosurgical Pain Management at Lenox Hill Hospital, part of the Northwell Health Systems, and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Hofstra Medical School. She has lectured and proctors pain physicians nationally and internationally.
Her cutting edge research eared her top abstracts at the North American Neuromodulation Society 2019 meeting on Dorsal Root Ganglion Stimulation for low back and leg pain and for DRG stimulation for pelvic pain 18 month follow up. Her pivotal work on neuromodulation for pelvic pain was also presented at the both The International Pelvic Pain Society annual meeting and the College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists annual meeting in 2019.
