Envision Healthcare, a leading national medical group, recently hosted the 2nd Annual Virtual Radiology Board Review Course for radiology residents, fellows and practicing radiologists. The course helps prepare radiologists for the board review and educates them on a variety of specialties and skill sets needed to seamlessly enter the workforce and provide quality care.

The free and high-impact board review course was a two-day event and included a virtual networking luncheon with some of the country’s leading radiologists from Envision.

“We are pleased to offer these courses as a resource to residents and practicing radiologists,” said Hani Abujudeh, MD, MBA, Envision Healthcare’s Specialist in Chief at Detroit Medical Center and a professor at Wayne State University of Medicine. “With a multispecialty team of highly skilled and passionate radiology leaders, we are uniquely positioned to mentor and support residents as they transition to practice. Our team is invigorated by the opportunity to meet the newest members of our radiology community and help guide them as they navigate their studies, provide communities high-quality care and drive innovations that improve care delivery.”

Attendees received insights and advice from experts specializing in gastrointestinal, genitourinary, musculoskeletal, cardiac, breast, ultrasound and chest imaging as well as neuroradiology, pediatric, vascular and interventional radiology. Additionally, there was a session on the noninterpretive skills that make for successful radiologists.

“There has been incredible attendance and feedback from our first two board review courses,” said Maria Rodriquez, MD, MBA, Chief Clinical Officer of Radiology at Envision Healthcare. “As a national medical group, we continue investing in our teammates and supporting them throughout all stages of their careers. We’re committed to providing clinicians with the tools, resources and technologies they need so they can focus on what matters most — caring for patients.”

Through Envision’s ongoing collaboration with Detroit Medical Center, home to one of the country’s largest radiology residency programs, the team provides a comprehensive program that prepares 10 radiologists each year to practice full time.
